Well Hello There!

Well hey! Welcome to All Things Tech!

I’m Patrick! I’m 45 and live in Tennessee with my beautiful wife and four awesome kiddos!

I am originally from Long Island, NY and moved to Tennessee in early 2019. I currently work in a tech support job for a company called Genesco. They are the parent corporation over the shoe stores Journeys, Johnston & Murphy and their Canadian counterparts.

My hobbies are computers and electronics, but mainly computers these days. I use Linux as my primary operating system at home. Currently I run Fedora 40 with the GNOME desktop on both my laptop and my desktop. My wife also runs Linux on her laptop. I keep Windows on a second drive on my main machine for compatibility with some things like games and such and also to keep my foot in the Microsoft world. At work I primarily run Windows as that’s what they use in corporate.

My mobile device is Android and has been for most of my smartphone life. Before Android I used Symbian on Nokia device (this shows my age). For a short time I did use iPhones and I also had a couple of Windows Phones (may they rest in peace). My current device is a Pixel 7 (256GB, Snow color) running Android 14 with Nova Launcher (more on that in another post)

When I’m not working you’ll find me hanging with my kiddos or using my computers probably installing another Linux distribution to test out, or using my phone and tweaking my setup.
